During the week of Thanksgiving 2010, SARM hit the road - operating train trips in Texas and New Mexico.
On Saturday, November 20th, the Museum operated passenger train trips on the Whiteface and Broadview lines of the West Texas & Lubbock. That afternoon, we also operated a series of hirail trips using former CN-51, a van rebuilt for branchline passenger service in Canada. See Saturday's photos.
On Sunday, November 21st, the Museum operated a passenger train over the Seagraves line. Both days covered former ATSF lines that once served the rural communities south and west of Lubbock, Texas. See Sunday's photos.
On Monday, Novmber 22nd, SARM moved to WT&L's Dimmitt Subdivision to operate another series of hirail trips, this time on former Fort Worth & Denver South Plains track. See Monday's photos.
On Tuesday, November 23rd, the focus was on a series of hirail trips covering the Texas-New Mexico Railroad. See Tuesday's photos.
SARM wishes to thank the Permian Basin Railways for allowing the operation of these trips.
