on the Georgia Southwestern Railroad
sponsored by SARMOn November 21, 2005, the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum ran a rare mileage roundtrip ride between Sasser, Georgia, and Eufaula, Alabama, on our “Eufaula Route Special”, over trackage now owned by the Georgia Southwestern Railroad.

November 21st featured a trip across the state line into Alabama. The first runby was at the restored station at Shellman, Georgia. |

Braving the rain, the group toured the GSWRR facilities
at Smithville, where the final runby of the event was held.
