In the Fall of 2002, SARM operated an excursion train through Texas and Oklahoma.

The week started with some final car maintenance at the Farmrail shops in Clinton, Oklahoma, before heading to Wichita Falls, Texas, to pick up passengers.

The Wichita, Tillman, & Jackson started Halloween Day off with a runby at Burkburnett, Texas.

WTJ 4451 crosses the Red River as it pulls the train out of Texas and into Oklahoma.

The excursion train passes Cassidy Grain in Hollister, Oklahoma, as the train works its way towards Altus.

WTJ and Farmrail swap power after the train reached Altus, Oklahoma.

The train works its way towards Duke, Oklahoma, as we operate a rare passenger movement over the Hollis & Eastern.

First class sleeper passengers enjoy the view from the Caritas as the train heads west towards Duke, Oklahoma, on Halloween Evening.

How far out in the country were we?

We are headed north from Altus, Oklahoma, on Friday, November 1st.
