This American Car and Foundry car is typical of the 60' RPO cars used throughout the Southern Railway system to pick up, sort, and distribute mail enroute on many trains until the 1960's. SARM acquired the car from the State of Georgia after the New Georgia train operations ceased in the early 1990s. It is currently used for storage and awaiting restoration.
