The Dinner Train at Oak Ridge

Presented by the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum, the Secret City Scenic Excursion Train, and Caramella Catering.

[Dining Car]

Dine in the romantic surroundings of an authentic railroad dining car with fresh flowers, china, and white tablecloths. The Dinner Train at Oak Ridge and Caramella Catering are offering the opportunity to step back in time to a more gracious era.

Take a leisurely one and one-half hour train ride and dine in former Southern Railway Pullman Dining Car No. 3164 restored to the appearance it had as it operated throughout Tennessee during the 1960's. The dining car has been lovingly rebuilt by volunteers of the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum and is fully air-conditioned and heated. Before and after the meal guest seating is available in an air-conditioned coach, also restored from the 1940's era of passenger railroading. An open-air concession car with souvenirs is also part of the train. The train is pulled by 1950's vintage Alco and EMD diesel locomotives.

Food service is provided by Chef Andras Bartha and the professional staff of Caramella Catering in the classic black-tie style of railroad passenger service. Passengers are requested to dress appropriately in Business/Business Casual attire.
