The Dinner Train at Oak Ridge

Presented by the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum, the Secret City Scenic Excursion Train, and Oliver's Restaurants and Catering.

[Dining Car]

Dine in the romantic surroundings of an authentic railroad dining car with fresh flowers, china, and white tablecloths. The Dinner Train at Oak Ridge and Oliver's Restaurants and Catering are offering the opportunity to step back in time to a more gracious era.

Take a leisurely two-hour train ride and dine in a former Southern Railway Dining Car restored to the appearance it had as it operated throughout Tennessee during the 1950's. The dining car has been lovingly rebuilt by volunteers of the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum and is fully air-conditioned and heated. Before and after the meal guest seating is available in an air-conditioned coach, also restored from the 1940's era of passenger railroading. An open-air concession car with souvenirs is also part of the train. The train is pulled by 1950's vintage Alco diesel locomotives.

Food service is provided by the professional staff of Oliver's Restaurants and Catering in the classic black-tie style of railroad passenger service. Passengers are requested to dress appropriately in Business/Business Casual attire.
