On December 5-6, 1998, the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum ran a series of trips covering almost the entire Kiamichi Railroad using the equipment of the Hugo Heritage Railroad. Saturday, the train ran from Ashdown, Arkansas, to Antlers, Oklahoma, and back to Hugo, Oklahoma. On Sunday there were trips from Hugo to Pirtle, Oklahoma, and Paris, Texas.

Along the way on Saturday, a photo runby was performed in front of the Weyerhaeuser pulp mill at Valliant, Oklahoma.

The first Sunday trip ran west to Pirtle, Oklahoma, where the power ran around the train.

The afternoon trip ran to Paris, Texas, where there were blue skies for a photo session next to the local passenger station, which was open for tours.
